Empirical Research On The Influence Of Information Public On Government Credibility

The general trust from the society is of great significance to social developmentand social stability. There is a lot of evidence to suggest that our government credibilityhas certain downward trends in different degrees. In National12th Five-Year Plan, toimprove the credibility of the government has been considered as the starting point forgovernment management innovation and reform of the administrative system. Andgovernment information disclose is the key to create a transparent government. Witheconomic development and social progress, and the increasing awareness of citizens’right to information and the right to participate, it put forward higher requirements ongovernment information disclosure. There is a trust gap between people and the officialpractice. Therefore, under the current social background, it is of great importance toanalyze the influences of information disclosure behavior on government credibility,and then the influencing factors can be controlled, so to improve government credibilityhas become an urgent problem.In this paper, the method of empirical research is adopted, learning from theprevious study results, I establish the measurement index for government credibility andgovernment information, so a tentative research is carried out on the governmentinformation disclosure’s influences upon its public credibility. The study usesquestionnaires to collect data, and adopts SPSS software to conduct statistical analysison recovered data, the following conclusions are drawn:1. The timeliness ofinformation disclosure can exert different impacts upon probity degree of civil servant.Timely information disclosure has more influences on the credibility of the government.Government information disclosure plays an important role in promoting law-basedadministration;2. There is a significant differences in the quality of informationdisclosure on the government credibility. And government information disclosure exertsgreat influences on probity degree of civil servant;3. there is a significant differences inthe form of information disclosure on government credibility. Government informationdisclosure exerts great influences on improving the satisfaction of government work;4.in demographic variables, with different qualifications and registered residence, there are different evaluations on the credibility of the government. Education background isin a negative correlation with government credibility. The evaluation of those who havehigher education background in the integrity degree of civil servant and the satisfactionof government work usually is relatively low. And registered residence is in a positivecorrelation with government credibility. The evaluation of those who are rural registeredpermanent residence in various dimensions of government credibility usually isrelatively higher. In the recently disclosed government information, most of them areabout government statistics information and government policies and regulations. Threepublic consumptions, food safety information and pension&medical information arethe top three government information need to be disclosed.According to the analysis results, the paper proposes the following policyrecommendations for future reference:1. Government information opening regulationsshould be legalized;2. Government and the civil servants should realize the importanceof government information disclosure;3. Citizen’s information awareness and socialsupervision mechanism need to be improved urgently;4. the public ’s right to know andthe right to participate need to be satisfied. Channels of public participation ingovernment and public activities also should be increased.
