Identity Of Youth Fans

“Fans”, a new group was born in recent years,its represented by young people hasits own unique culture. Fans identity is the experience of individual process of idol worship,and the result of the group identity. This study begins from the identity issue, the datais obtained from semi-structure interview and observation on fans. Psychological processabout identity on fans is stated. The source of identity on fans is studied through theview of psychology and sociology in order to study the self-action process.Based on the qualitative analysis of5people’s interview，the research results areas followed：Identity on fans includes two elements, idol identity and group identity, which exhibitsprocedural and hierarchy, including early identification, mid-term status practice, lateridentity fade.1.Early identification decided by the fans of the idol identity. Identityhas three types: wisdom, transitional, emotional, each type is derived from the situationof the individual self needs. Idol identity has three core elements: values, personal qualityand appearance quality2.Mid-term status practice period, identity is influenced by thegroup identification and idol identity together. Idol identity is the result of theinteraction with the idol in life situations, makes the individual indirectly owns practicalspirit and material gain. In groups, the fans have higher self-worth, high security andhigh sense of belonging and community action showed high frequency in interpersonalinteraction, strong internal rules and group preferences, identification of the groupincluding group values agree with the way worship and group identity.3. In the case, foundthat identity fade idol identity and group identity in the process of mutual influence,Idol identification and group identity only terminate when all is lost.
