New democracy culture theory refers to theories related to new democracy established byChinese Communist Party members represented by Chairman Mao. It is guided by Marxism, and it isethnic, scientific, popular, anti-imperialism, anti-feudalism culture theory.New democracy culture theory sprouts at the beginning of20th century when Marxism wasintroduced into China, and it is completed systemically in1940s when On New Democracy andSpeech in Yan’an Art Forum by Chairman Mao got published. Its main content includes the nature,object and task of New democracy culture, the ethnic, scientific and popular culture traits, and alsorevolution culture value, people education value and ideology value and such essential theories. In theprocess of the formation of New democracy culture theory, the modern Chinese culture thought is itsessential source.New democracy revolution is its practical foundation and Marxism is its theoretical base. Itsview on ethnic culture experiences a process of from neglecting to weakened, then identifyingstrongly. And the view on scientific and popular culture experiences a process from shallow toprofound, from point to surface.New democracy culture theory has great historic and practical significance. On one hand, it is apowerful thought weapon of Chinese revolution and a propeller of initiating the modernization ofChinese culture.
