A Study On Marx’s Thought Of Technogical Criticism

Criticism is the soul of Marx’s theory. It mainly reflected in the criticalness of the philosophy of Marx, Marx’s entirely critique of capitalism, and self-criticism of the ideology of Marx. However, the technological criticism ideology of Marx is included in his entirely critique of capitalism.Marx said,"In essence, all technology have double attributes of social nature and tool nature". Since the birth of technology, it developed as a way of supporting human beings to realize their purpose. However, the appearance and the development of the technology suffered an unprecedented change while capital came up to the world. In other words, technology is been alienated in capitalist society. On one hand, capitalist alienated technology as a tool of enslaving people. This is the important reason of leading to the alienation of workers and their products of labor, labor process, class nature, etc. On the other hand, capital greatly improved the labor efficiency, accomplishing the maximization of surplus value, satisfied the greed of capital itself by means of technology introduction and transformation. Then capital found a wonderful way to realize their mission by means of technology. So Marx thinks:the deep root of technological alienation is capitalist private ownership; the most important way to liberate technological alienation is the abolition of capitalist private ownership, the realization of communism. At the same time, Marx also think it need great progress of technology itself to accomplish this revolution, as technology is the crucial factor of promoting the progress of society productivity, supplying material premise for mankind to get rid of insufficient of material.It’s very important for people to have a correct comprehension of the essence and the social function of modern technology from that Marx’s theoretical criticism and analysis of technology alienation which capitalist society leads to. Nevertheless, the criticism feature of technological ideology of Marx is gradually forgotten by people, while technology make a rapid progress and playing an increasingly powerful social role, especially the Western Scientism prevails and makes a lot of influence.
