A Tentative Study On Formation Of Chen Duxiu’s View Of Human Rights And Its Status And Role In The Sinicization Of Marxism

As the sponsor of the new culture and the May4th movement, Chen Duxiu is the advocate of the first ideological liberation movement of China in twentieth century. He is a great revolutionary in Chinese history, who raises the democratic, scientific flags and sets up human rights standard. Chen Duxiu’s view of human rights is a specific practice influenced by Marx’s historical materialism, and is a product of social environment in the Confucian culture and modern western civilization, also is a representative of applying Marx doctrine in China and combination with Chinese reality. Concise and bright human view of Chen Duxiu is an important milepost in the history of human rights of China.In this paper, following the human rights formation and development process of Chen Duxiu, philosophical basis and theoretical origination in their formation and development is discussed. In most cases, the development of a thought is in addition to driven by a variety of social factors in the transverse direction, and is still constrained by the tradition and inertia of the history of ideas and academic history of their own development in the vertical dimension. From this perspective to examine, Chen Duxiu’s view of human rights is the gradual accumulation and integration of various ideological elements of Chinese culture in the long-term development and evolution, and is constantly evolving and innovative results in the process. Chen Duxiu’s view of human rights is not accomplished at one stroke, but experience from the development process of the liberal human rights concept to the Marxist human rights, discussion on the content of Chen Duxiu’s Marxist human rights view, paves the way of analysis of Chen Duxiu inheritance and development of Marxist human rights. Correspondence between Chinese traditional culture and Marxism, provides may soil for Chen and early Marxist introduction of Marx’s concept of human rights; the reality of Chinese society and the revolutionary status quo needs a new culture as a guideline, it makes Chen Duxiu introduction of Marx’s concept of human rights is necessary. In this article, Chen Duxiu inheritance and development of the Marxist concept of human rights as the key, he absorbed the core idea of the Marxist concept of human rights, but because of the complexity of Chinese society, particularity, a spirit which combine with local traditions, local status, is needed, tradition of Marxist human rights in the inheritance and development of ideological value, in order to examine Chen Duxiu’s human rights status and role of Marxism in China as well as leads to reflection of the contemporary human rights in China construction.
