Studies On The Psychological Characteristics And The Reform Countermeasures Of Elderly Criminals

With the speeding up of China’s population aging process, the number of elderly criminals has a fast increase. The education reconstruction of elderly criminals has close relationship to the quality improvement of the prison education reconstruction. How to educate and reform criminals the elderly criminals is the problem Prison need urgently to solve. The psychological characteristics of elderly criminals in the education reconstruction were studied by using interviewing and questionnaire investigation, and the corresponding reform suggestions were put forward. Besides preface and conclusion, this article is divided into three chapters to discuss this topic.The first chapter mainly expounds the concept of elderly criminals, the characteristics and cause of the crime of the elder. First, the concept of the elderly, the elderly crime, and the elderly criminals were introduced. Then the characteristics of the elderly crime were summarized, and the cause of the elderly crime were analyzed.The second chapter is focus on the elderly criminals’ psychological characteristics. In order to more deeply understand the psychological characteristic of elderly criminals, we designed a psychological questionnaire, and we random sampling some elderly criminals in two prisons to complete the survey. It is found that the elderly criminals in prison showed the following characteristics:1. they have a strong dependence to the prison;2. they have a strong inferiority complex;3they generally felt very lonely;4. they generally lack a sense of security.The third chapter is the reform countermeasures of elderly criminals. This chapter probes into some reform countermeasures of elderly criminals from three aspects of the transformation theory, the level of management and psychological treatments. First, we analyze the shortcomings of the elderly criminals transform theory research, and put forward the corresponding suggestions. Second, we discuss how to strengthen the management of the elderly criminals in the prison actual work from innovation prison classification methods, the personalized design of elderly criminals’prison management system, the prison activity carried out in accordance with the characteristics of the elderly criminals, and strengthen the family education four aspects. Finally, we summarizes the legislative status quo of our country psychological treatments, points out the shortage of legislation, puts forward some suggestions of perfecting legislation, and propose to carry out targeted psychological correction activities according to elderly criminals unique psychological characteristics.The research of elderly criminal psychological characteristics and education reform problems are helpful to perfect the theory of criminals education reform and improve the quality of the prisoners reform. We hope more people were attracted by this article to devote themselves the study of the elderly criminals education reform.
