Research On Communication Between Heze City And Its International Sister Cities

With the acceleration of economic globalization and urbanization, more and more exchanges and cooperation have been conducted between cities in different countries. Sister cities, as an important channel to carry out exchange and cooperation with other nations, plays an active role in cooperating national diplomacy as well as thrive local social and economic development. While whether the cooperation is efficient or not can be affected by several factors such as the international environment, different administration mode, level of opening-up to the world. Thus how to overcome problems and difficulties in the communication process and give full play to the sister cities is a significant task that local governments face.Based on the existing theories and practices of sister cities at home and abroad, the dissertation takes Heze city in Shandong Province, China as an example, and makes a specific research and analysis of its international sister cities performances. The dissertation consists of five chapters. Chapter one introduces the research background, objectives, research methods, framework and innovations; summarizes the existing research achievements. In the second Chapter, the author probes into the functions, communication methods and related factors of local governments in the cooperation process with international sister cities. Chapter three to five comes to the certain circumstances of Heze city and its sister cities. Chapter three reviews the history and current situation, unique features and achievements of Heze City during its communication with international sister cities. Chapter four sums up the existing problems and analyses the causes of Heze city’s sister city work. Chapter Five puts forward certain countermeasures to improve sister city communications.
