It is difficult to fully reflect the spatial form of geological object for the inside. information of traditional geological using the expression of the two-dimensional graphics, it requires a lot of drawing to express geological information from multiple perspectives, and is difficult for engineer to explain the geological information, it can only be stored in the mind of the engineer for the spatial distribution patterns of geological objects by structural analysis, it is difficult for worker to use effectively.3D geological visualization system provides assistant analysis tools that can describe geological information by means of three-dimensional visualization and various functions of geological exploration. It helps engineers distinguish the internal composition of geological body from geological structure, facilitate the analysis of geological structure, provide predict and guidance for construction of underground and exploration and so on.This thesis introduces three-dimensional visualization Development toolkit ActiViz.NET、visualization process and its programming model. Using the T3format data gained from Geological exploration, based on extend standard data reader interface of ActiViz.NET, the special interface for T3data reader is developed. The T3format data is changed to standard ActiViz.NET image format. The demand of three-dimensional geological visualization system is analyzed. This thesis uses software engineering methods and object-oriented technology to carry out the design and development of the system based on ActiViz.NET. Combined with ActiViz.NET and the rarely used volume rendering technology, we realize the following functions:(1)3D visualization of geological objects, the interactive operation such as rotate, move, zoom;(2)3D-slice browsing and interaction;(3) Geological Objects clipping;(4)3D-picking and3D-Measuring;(5)geological object’s lookup table;(6)virtual tunneling and roaming;(7)geological object’s image zoom setting. This system can help engineers to distinguish the internal composition and structure of geological structure, facilitate the analysis of geological body to predict and guidance underground work. Thus the thesis provides a new thought and method for the development of3D geological visualization system software.
