21century is the century of ocean, The much more developed countries near theocean in the world have paid attention to ocean. To develop and protect the ocean, thechief problem is marine prospecting. USBL is a underwater locating technology and areapplied in marine production and development, its main function is determine the positionof ROV, ads, driver and others under the water. The Ultra-short Baseline(USBL)reliability and accuracy considerably has a crucial influence on the measurement veracityof Ultra-short baseline positioning system.At present, Ultra-short Baseline technology has developed in abroad, supportingfacilities are sufficient, precision is up to about1%. While with our country pays moreattention to the marine undertaking, we have got some achievements, especially HITdeveloped the USBL with independent property rights in our country. But its supportingfacilities, especifily for the research for the armoured ship lifting gear haven’t reach therequirement of international standard. But Lifting devices for Ultra-short Baseline is theimportant component parts of Ultra-short baseline application technology. Its reliabilityand accuracy considerably has a crucial influence on the measurement veracity ofUltra-short baseline positioning system.This paper investigates the characteristics of ultra-short device abroad, in view of theocean hull no.1, it puts forward a new design proposal of USBL. It introduces theconceptual design, details of the design, the physical prototype, test and standardizedproduction in detail. The mechanism adopts dual-shaft multi-row chain structure for powertransmission, use linear guideway for guidance and positioning of the spindle, employlarge self-sealing plain bearings for directional and electrical co ntrol gear to stableoperation.This paper applied PRO/E3d software modeling and assembling. Then use motionsimulation to analysis the rationality of montant and modify the model base on the results.Third, design calculation to the key parts and fittings of the device, so that get theoptimum dimensions and design other parts of the device in detail. Finaly, the application of ANSYS workbench software in finite element analysis for check the lifting platform foreach parts. At last, successfully trial-produced the first domestic ultra-short baselinepositioning device and with the simulation experiment proved that on land, the device’sperformance is reliable, maintenance is convenient. Practices proved, design of thepositioning accuracy can enhance the positional accuracy of ultra-short baseline system.
