The process of grinding classification is an important produce stage in mineral processing industry, the effect of good or bad of its product granularity control are directly impact on the efficiency of the flotation recovery operations and concentrate grade. In addition, compared with other industrial equipment, the operation of grinding classification is high energy consumption in the production process, and the proportion of the cost of inputs is the largest in the mineral processing industry. Therefore, using the advanced of intelligent control technology into the process of grinding classification to ensure the qualification of product granularity, which can improve the production efficiency of the grinding classification and saving producing cost that has important practical significance for the mineral processing companies to enhance the economic efficiency and the market competition.This paper is based on the intelligent control system development project study of the grinding processing in the Damajianshan concentrator of Yunnan Lvchun Xintai Limited company.Through analysis the principle and operating characteristics of grinding classification system to determine the ball mill current, the grader current, the ball mill tone, and add the variable of water to the ore, grinding concentration and overflow concentration as the detection parameters, selected the ore, sand back the amount of water, discharge mine water as a control variable, established the relationship between the ball mill load and ball mill current, and the relationship between the ball mill load and the intensity of the sound, and analysis the relationship between the characteristics of the grinding concentration and the ball mill efficiency as well as the characteristics of relationship between the grading machine current and the return sand volume. Basis on the characteristics of grinding classification process, combine with the actual locale grinding classification equipment to determine the design of intelligent control system of grinding and classification process, the program grinding classification intelligent control system can divided by four parts: intelligent control of the ball mill load, intelligent control of the adding water, intelligent control of the ball mill concentration, intelligent control of the classifier overflow concentration.Compare with the traditional grinding classification control process, this paper has the following innovation points:1、 Using the method of current method and the combination of sound intensity to testing the ball mill load, which improve the detection accuracy of the ball mill load.2、 Using the array electronic belt to measuring the amount of ore, which improve the accuracy of the control to the ore.3、 Using the decentralized control centralized management of distributed control mode, which will not affect the control of the lower machine by the failure of the host computer, and an individual control loop failure will not affect the whole control functions. 4、The remote control design that can help the engineer who has the technology can remotely debugging, manipulation and production guidance, without having to visit the site, which can greatly reduce the time to solve the problem.After using the technology of grinding classification intelligent control, the kinds of the technical and economic indicators of beneficiation has been significantly improved, the economic benefit is remarkable growth. The handling capacity of ball mill station is increased18.4%; the concentrate grade increased0.35%and the tailings grade decreased by0.64%, the unit of steel ball consumption is significantly reduce, which is achieved the target of this topic.
