Ionic liquids (ILs) have attracted considerable attention in a wide variety of fields due to their unique properties, such as almost undetectable vapor pressure, wide liquid temperature range, excellent chemical stability, high thermal stability, and strong solvent power for a wide range of organic, inorganic and polymeric molecules. In this study, the background and progress of thermosensitive polymer materials CO2fixation, ionic liquid, nanoparticles and poly(ionic liquid)s, especially CO2fixation and The functionalization of catalytic CO2conversion by ionic liquid, are reviewed. The main contents include the following:1. One-step synthesis of thermo sensitive nanogels based on highly cross-linked poly(ionic liquid)s:Highly cross-linked polymeric nanoparticles were prepared via novel one-step synthesis by copolymerizing ethylene glycol dimethacrylate(EGDMA) or divinylbenzene(DVB) and the ionic liquid,1, n-butanediyl-3’3-bis-1-vinyl imidazolium halides ([BVIm]X=1·X; X=Cl or Br; n=2,4,6,8,12). The results revealed that ImlL-based CLPN can be easily prepared through the copolymerization of1·X with EGDMA and DVB in selective solvents. Stable, blue opalescent CLPN solutions can be prepared without any precipitation when the cross-linking copolymerization of1·X is conducted in methanol or ethanol. Moreover, the ImIL-based CLPN is thermo sensitive, and can reversibly transform to precipitate or macrogel in methanol with a change in temperature. The nanoparticles were characterized using NMR, FTIR, Mass spectrometry, Elemental analysis, Melting point apparatus, Nano-size, UV, thermo gravimetric analyzery(TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM).2. The catalysts used in homogeneous catalysis cyclic carbonate and catalytic reaction of dimethyl carbonate, Especially in catalytic CO2and application of epoxy compound cycloaddition to solve the "greenhouse effect" has its special significance.
