This research is carried out on fault diagnosis methods on water-based power rod-lesspumping unit, which is having more and more broad market for its advantages of highpump efficiency, simple structure, easy installation and transportation, low cost of oilextraction, etc. As a new type of pumping unit, research on the fault mechanism and faultdiagnosis methods are blank. Therefore, it has important theoretical significance andengineering application value to research on fault diagnosis method of the system.This research is supported by the national natural fund projects, the Beijingmunicipal education commission and cooperation open projects of Key Laboratory ofModem Measurement&Control Technology of Ministry of Education, the mainly researchinvolves the following contents:(1) The research on fault mechanism of water-based power rod-less pumping unit iscarried out. According to the characters of fault mechanism, the method of combining thenonlinear theory and dynamics modeling method is determined.(2) The dynamics analysis and research are carried out. Based on the fluid dynamicsfundamental and structural dynamics fundamental, by using the finite element method(FEM), the finite element model of water base power rod-less pumping unit was set up.The working mode and the fluid performance, structural stress and power cylinderpressure-out phenomenon of the process are obtained.(3) Fault diagnosis methods research based on the power cylinder combinationequation of motion parameters are carried out. The stress analysis of underground structureis continued and the power cylinder motion equation is set up. According to differentchanges of combination equation parameters under different working conditions, therelationship between different faults and equation parameters are got, and the fault analysisbased on the combination of power cylinder motion equation parameters is set up.(4) The fault diagnosis method based on fractal dimension fundamental is carried out.The equivalent indicator diagram based on pressure and velocity signal is set up. the stepsof automatic identification method of indicator diagram on Water-based power rod-lesspumping unit based on fractal dimension theory is presented, and fault fractal range ofseveral typical faults are got.(4) Water-based power rod-less pumping unit fault testing diagnostic system isdeveloped, including the sensor selection and installation. Then the data acquisition experiment was carried out. The fault simulation test bench of Water-based power rod-lesspumping unit is designed.The research showed that, according to the study on failure mechanism and nonlinearfailure, the method of combining the nonlinear theory and dynamics modeling method isset up. Through the practical field data validation, the fault diagnosis method in this paperis accurate and reliable. Fault diagnosis methods which are provided by the paper filled theblank of the research on fault diagnosis method of Water-based power rod-less pumpingunit; it has theoretical significance and engineering application value.
