Pollution from livestock and poultry breeding are the major sources of water pollution.Livestock and poultry breeding wastewater is a kind of organic wastewater with highconcentration. Due to the limit of the scale of livestock and poultry breeding, the wastewaterwere difficult to collect and treat comprehensively. Conventional technologies have their defectsfor treating livestock and poultry breeding wastewater, such as high cost and cover land widely.So finding a high efficient and economic method is the key on livestock and poultry breedingwastewater treatment.MBR is a high efficient treatment combining membrane separation technology andbiological method. It has the advantages of high removal rate and excellent effluent quality, andused widely to treat livestock and poultry breeding wastewater. A new kind ofMBR(Facultative-aerobic MBR) was studied to treat livestock and poultry breeding wastewater,and the treatment effect and performance were discussed.Through the experiment of two farms, the results showed:(1) Using Facultative-aerobic MBR treating biogas slurry, when HRT17.4h, sludgeconcentration15000mg/L, DO of membrane aera1-2mg/L,DO of Facultative aerobic0.4-0.6mg/L, sludge loading0.118kgCOD/(kg·d), volume loading1.755kgCOD/(m~3·d), COD,Ammonia nitrogen, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and SS of effluent were50mg/L,5mg/L,50mg/L,15mg/L and10mg/L respectively.(2) Using Facultative-aerobic MBR treating poultry breeding wastewater, when HRT10.4h,sludge concentration18000mg/L,With DO of aerobic aera in facultative water regulating tank1-2mg/L, and facultative aerobic0.2-0.4mg/L.DO of membrane aera in facultative-aerobic MBR1-2mg/L, DO of Facultative aerobic0.2-0.4mg/L, sludge loading0.156kgCOD/(kg·d), volumeloading2.99kgCOD/(m~3·d), COD, Ammonia nitrogen, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and SS ofeffluent were102mg/L,76mg/L,81mg/L,31mg/L and10mg/L respectively.(3) Facultative-aerobic MBR has the advantages of high removal rate, less oxygen demandand low energy cost. Microbe in the reactor will form Dynamic balance system, the emission ofthe organic excess sludge is near-zero. At the same time, Facultative aerobic-MBR made use ofintermittent water production and aeration washing, so membrance pollution will be controlledefficiently.(4) Facultative-aerobic MBR was greatly influenced by the environment temperature.Whenthe environment temperature is below10℃,the microorganism not easy acclimation. While underthe suitable temperature conditions, the system started fast and the microorganism grew well. The removal increased as the HRT expansion.
