Roll forming is an economical, efficient, energy-saving sheet metal forming processes, occupies a very important position in the field of sheet metal forming, and its products have been used more and more widely in life. Now the designing methods to determine the forming parameters are mainly based on the experience of the designer. It is blind and conservative, and in order to obtain a cross-section with higher accurate, it must be repeated debugging. It extends the design cycle, be resulted in an unnecessary waste of resources. So it is necessary to research the roll forming process. A door frame steel is took for the design of object.First, to determine the forming parameters, design the door plate deformation, and combine the theoretical calculations with computer-aided design software COPRA to design a technology roadmap of roll forming deformed process and research how to use the least number of passes to deform required products. It reduces the production costs, improves the design efficiency and shortens the production cycle.According to the deformation diagram and sheet defects in the process of forming, design the roll mold initial contour local details. In order to ensure the smooth shape of the plate, design the related auxiliary device (the feed inlet means, flattening means, straightening direct device).The springback is an important and inevitable factor to affect the accuracy of steel. How to improve the springback prediction accuracy is studied in paper. First, analying the causes of the springback in theory and using finite element simulation method to predict the roll bending process. In order to choose the right parameters to improve FEM simulation accuracy, comparing the simulation results with the production results, analyzing the impact of each simulation parameters on springback prediction accuracy. Then using the finite element simulation technology on door frame forming and springback process which is based on the simulation results of the defects to improve the forming rolls and predict springback bending angle, set the corners to make up the springback.
