Under impact loading, properties of material is completely different with static or quasi-static, especially with the material enter the plastic stage. Relations of material strain and stress is affected by deformation history effects. Based on EPIC-2D (Elastic-Plastic Impact Computation in2dimensions) for secondary development, in order to meet the computing needs, modify and add some calculation module. This paper describes that when using the finite element method dealing with the impact dynamics problem need to use mathematical and physics theory, describes some of the basic theory of material constitutive model, describes the basic theory and methods of calculating the material temperature rise. This paper simulation Taylor test, flat nosed projectile penetrating metal plate test, oval projectile penetration aluminum target test, oval projectile penetration concrete target test. The comparison of simulation results and experimental results, verify the program.Of these four were used to simulate temperature analysis.Under different initial velocities, work out the highest temperature in the model, temperature, density and pressure curve of fixed points. This paper analysis the thermal diffusion effect on the temperature distribution, by numerical simulation and theory. The analysis results show that Thermal diffusion of temperature would affect the length of time and the size of the grid. In the penetration simulation, because time is short, thermal diffusion distance is much smaller than the grid size, so that the thermal diffusion is not effect on the temperature distribution.
