Children's Behavior And Role-playing Game Furniture Design

The society has always been paying much attention to children. The demands in allthe aspects regarding children’s basic necessities are strictly controlled. With theincreasingly improved living conditions, people’s requirements for children furniture alsochange correspondingly, which develops from “scale-down version of adult furniture” tochildren furniture designed according to children’s like and behavior characteristics.Games play an important part in the lives of children, which is beneficial to thedevelopment of physical and mental health of children. Though combination furnitureaimed at children’s game behavior can be seen everywhere, furniture designed andproduced according to role play behavior of children can hardly be seen. Another novelcreativity in designing children furniture is about how to give play to furniture’s helpingrole in children’s games and turn them into stage properties or costumes in children’sgames.Through studying and analyzing the spontaneous role play behavior in gamebehavior of children, the paper comes up with an idea of designing children furniture bycombining various forms with role play. Based on design elements, the paper analyzes theknown cases, summarizes the embodiment of role play behavior in designing childrenfurniture and gropes the method of combining role play behavior with children furniture.It is in the hope to extend different ways of children furniture’s functional forms throughstudying specific game behavior of children. Through practice, the paper expects tofinally study and design children furniture which provides secondary function for roleplay of children.
