Copper and cadmium residue is a kind of solid waste produced by purification process ofzinc hydrometallurgy,mainly composed by zinc,copper,cadmium,cobalt, nickle and other valuablemetal elements.Copper and cadmium residue is hazardous waste.It would be a waste of resourcesand pollution of the environment if the waste residue was just simply stockpiling outside withoutproperly handle.Comprehensive recovery valuable metals from copper and cadmium residue willbe good for making full use of the raw materials and create a huge economic gains,also,it will beconducive to comprehensive utilization of resources and environmental protection.According tothe properties of the copper and cadmium residue produced by a Chemical Plant of Xingan.Inorder to comprehensive recovery valuable components from copper and cadmium residue,theeffective process as“Leaching-Iron Removal-Cyclone electrowinning”is proposed in this study.Electrolytic liquid waste from zinc electrolytic plant is used as leaching reagent.In order topromote the leaching of the metal component in the slag,the air is used as an oxidant in theexperiment.The effect of ventilation,Stirring speed, leaching temperature,leaching time,the endpH on leaching rate of zinc,copper,cadmium were Investigated in the study. The leaching rate ofZn Cu Cd are more than99%while the leaching conditions is conducted under the air rate of3m3/(h·L),the Stirring speed of200r/min,the temperature of85℃, a endpH of2.0for4h.Comparative analysis of iron removal methods and combined with the leaching process ofthe experiment.According to the principle of neutralizing hydrolysis,a iron removal process asuse ZnO to turn the pH of lixivium to5.0,and than setting it for2h is proposed in the paper.Afterfiltration,the concentration of Fe3+in the leaching liquid is blew1mg/L.The solution mainly contains copper,zinc cadmium nickle and cobalt after removal ofiron.They can recovery step-by-step by cyclone electrowinning technology according to theirelectrode potential differences.Recovery copper by cyclone electrowinning in the first stage.Highpurity copper cathode product can be obtained when the current density is50A/m2,The amountof electrolyte circulation is30L/h and control the end concentration of Copper ion is more than200mg/L.The content of cooper is more than99%.Recovery cadmium by cycloneelectrowinning in the second stage.High purity cadmium cathode product can be obtained whenthe current density is25A/m2,The amount of electrolyte circulation is20L/h and control the endconcentration of cadmium ion is more than300mg/L.The content of cadmium is more than98%.The third stage still use cyclone electrowinning technology to remove de-cadmium andrecovery nickle cobalt in the electrolyte,A cobalt and nickel slag that the cobalt-containing ismore than25%and the nickel-containing is more than34%can be get in this stage.The cobalt and nickel slag can directly sell to the cobalt nickel recovering company.The ion concentration ofcadmium nickle cobalt in the electrolyte is less than1mg/L.The electrolyte can be sent to zincelectrolytic for zinc recovering.And the recovering rate of copper,cadmium,cobalt,nickle is allmore than99%.
