In modern society, the “new industrial revolution is a double edged sword, which can beused for the benefit of humankind,……can also destroy mankind. If we don’t go to thesensible use of it, it could be quickly developed to this point.”Wiener’s words above pointsout the “dual” character of modern science and technology. Food additive as an importantproduct of modern technology, on the one hand, has promoted the rapid development of themodern food industry, improving the people’s life, on the other hand, has also led to a numberof serious social problems, becoming the object that the whole of the society are accusing.In fact, the technology of food additives is nothing but the general term for theknowledge, equipment, processes and obtained products concerned with the eatable materials,which the human society has gradually collected in their food production and processing,based on their own needs. As part of the technology of food additives, food additives have5functions, which can prevent food from spoilage, improve food quality, increase foodnutrients, promote innovation and convenience in food processing, and3main characteristics,which are chemical pathways, having the contents decided by the law, and standing for themodern science and technology. Nowadays, food additive technology is widely used, thusraising up three serious problems in modern society, which are wrong standard, security andillegal abuse. The reason why the above three problems have come into being exists in thefollowing three aspects, which are people’s understanding, backward technology,profit-driven, lax supervision and illegal imports.In light of the above analysis, the paper raises appropriate solutions for those problems.First of all, strengthen the food additive technology in its ideological and knowledgepropaganda of, scientific research and scientific production. Concretely speaking, thefollowing three things should be well done, of which the first is to strengthen the publicity ofknowledge about food additives technology, the second is to pay attention to the technicalresearch and development of new varieties of food additives, and the third is to improve theproduction technology of food additives. Secondly, strengthen the food additive technology inits moral education, sense of responsibility and integrity mechanisms. Concretely speaking,the following three things should be well done, of which the first is to strengthen the moraleducation of food additive technology, the second is to enhance the sense of responsibility of food additive technology, the third is to construct the credit system of food additivetechnology. Finally, improve the technology of food additive in its standards, laws andregulations, and administrative oversight. Concretely speaking, the following three thingsshould be well done, of which the first is to actively improve the standards system, the secondis to perfect the technology laws and regulations of food additives, and the third is to take theinitiative to strengthen the Government’s supervision of food additive technology. Only inthis way, can food additives technology and food industry in China and have a harmoniousdevelopment and create a better future both for the food culture of the Chinese nation andpeople’s happy life!...
