With the rapid development of social economy, the water supply demand ofsafety, reliability and convenience are increasing in enterprise.On the one hand,the increasing industrial demand for water forms a greater pressure on ourcountry which lacks of freshwater resources; on the other hand, to solve thetraditional inefficient water supply and improve the level of automation ofenterprises have become an important inevitable technical indicators. How toapply the advanced industrial control technology into the industrial water supplyprojects, which can achieve the purpose of saving a lot of manpower, materialresources and water resource, reducing consumption and maintenance andimproving personal security and enterprise automation level.According to the control requirements of intake and pressure water processin the alumina plant, this paper designs a set of water supply control system ofindustrial control network. The system mainly consists of three parts: thedispatch center engineer station, operator station, field equipment and theinstrument station. Management personnel of alumina plant understands theworking situation of the whole water supply control system through thedispatching center station. Operator station conducts the related control and dataacquisition of field devices and instruments according to the water demand ofwater supply control system. The system consists of industrial LAN via anEthernet switch, which realize the real-time control and data communication ofthe dispatch center and field equipment.The hardware of water supply control system mainly consists of IPC, PLC,Ethernet switches, instruments and other related equipment. PLC and fieldinstrument part use MODBUS-RTU communication protocol to communicate,in part to communicate using4-20mA analog signal. The software mainlyconsists of upper computer software and lower computer software. The uppercomputer uses the PC configuration software KINGVIEW developed computermonitor screen. The lower computer uses the STEP7-Micro/WIN SP6V4.0programming software to compiles the control program. After the designing of the system is completed and put into the field, aseries of tests is put on the control system, field debugging and operationconditions show that the design of the alumina plant’s water control system canoperate stability, which realize the expected design goals. Besides, the watercontrol system improves the automation level of water supply sectors, and hasimportant economic and social benefits.
