Abstract/Summary:
At present, to adapt to the demand of the changing market, enterprises haveto minimize the design and production cycle, and high flexible modular fixturehas become the essential equipment in modern manufacturing system. So,Computer Aided Fixture Design (CAFD) technology has broad applicationprospects. The development of CAFD system has experienced many stages:from the interactive system to the CAFD system based on Group Technology(GT-based), then to the CAFD system based on Knowledge (Knowledge-based),as well as the recently proposed process, taken advantage of expert system (ES,Expert System) technology to realize the design of fixture. This developmenthelps to push the process of fixture automation design of modular fixture.In this paper, a new method for automatic assembly of modular fixture isproposed, which is based on the study of CAD in fixture and the defects of thatmost current CAFD system is hard to realize automatic assembly of elements,which not only can reflects the assembly relationship between elements, but alsocan further reduce the assembly error by adjusting the relative position betweenthe elements. The main research contents of this paper include:1) Establish the model of modular fixture elements and assembly cases, andstudies the retrieval and fixture design instance similarity calculation by theapplication of modular fixture design based on case reasoning technology.2) A assembly dimension chain of new rule was applied to the assembly ofmodular fixture elements, and an automatic assembly system of modular fixturewas founded based on the development platform of Pro/E and the developmenttool of Visual Basic6programming language, and the feasibility of the systemwas given to proved by an example.3) The model in the case library of the modular fixture was precisionanalyzed, and the error of location and the stress deformation were calculatedand analyzed, to test the reliability of the case in the case library. Inaddition,modal analysis was carried out on the model, to ensure its natural frequency.
