Nowadays, it has been a major direction to welding workers that how toimprove the welding efficiency of production and make the welding technologytowards high quality and efficient. And Tandem welding is a welding methodwhich can achieve high efficient welding. Because Tandem welding is a newwelding method, the research of it often adopt the method of experiments. Thestudy adopted the method of numerical is less. Therefore, This paper simulatedand analyzed the heat transfer and fluid flow of the Tandem welding pool byFLUENT software, considering the convection of molten metal. Based on theGaussian type heat flux distribution, the author respectively established thewelding heat source model of ordinary GMAW welding and Tandem welding,loading the electromagnetic force, surface tension and buoyancy. The purpose isto further study the physical process of Tandem welding and compare thecommon GMAW with Tandem welding. Through simulation, the differencebetween the results of Tandem welding and common gas shield arc welding isconsistent with the advantages in the real process of Tandem welding comparedwith common GMAW. These merits include Good appearance of welding andless welding defects. This proved that the model established by the author isaccurate. Meanwhile, This paper also compared the thermal field and flow fieldof the Tandem welding pool in different welding parameters. Finally obtainedthe rule of how the flow field and thermal field changing with the weldingparameters. |
