A subject research on improving service life of die-casting die by usinglaser bionic technology is an important application of bionics in the field of themould industry, a huge economic benefits has been brought for the moldindustry. Normalized the process parameters can help its development andpromotion in the future.In this paper, the nonlinear relationship between the shape of laser fusedunit cell and the laser processing parameters was treated as a “black box” basedon the theory of artificial neural network, inverse solving model of laser meltingparameters was established that the transverse dimensions of fused cell bodywas treated as input and the laser processing parameters was regarded as output.The structure was designed through function division using structured analysismethod for the laser bionic strengthening process decision support system ofdie-casting die. The table of die’s material, laser processing parameters, fusedresults, bionic form, the thermal fatigue performance and the wearingperformance of material, and their relationship was designed based on thefunction of system. The database system of die-casting die laser bionicstrengthening process was established. The system with independent intellectualproperty rights which interface was designed by modular programming wasdeveloped based on Visual C++6.0.Take DIEVAR Mold steel for example, the decision accuracy and overallperformance of the system were tested from factors of the cross section,laserremelting unit size, microstructure, micro-hardness and thermal fatigueproperties of laser melting unit. It shows that the system features fast, preciseand reliable. The decision accuracy can reach1.33%, the micro-hardness of thematerial has enhanced40-100HV compared with the substrate, and heat fatigueperformance has improved significantly through the reverse process parameters.It shows that the service life of the die has been prolonged70%after the system was applied in the actual production.
