Crude oil is a major energy indispensable in our daily life. With the rapiddevelopment of economy in our country, the energy demand for crude oil is increasinggradually, and the number of imported crude oil will increase. So the measurement ofcrude oil moisture content is of great importance.This thesis adopts the Monte Carlo method to simulate neutron activation analysismethod of online measuring the moisture content of finished product oil, by usingMCNP4C program simulation measurement processes. The feasibility of this methodwas verified, and simulation data obtained provide theory reference to research for therelevant instrument.Firstly, this thesis introduced the purpose and significance of this article,including domestic and foreign current research situations and related instruments.Secondly, we introduced the Monte Carlo method and the MCNP program, and thenwe detailed the neutron activation analysis method and neutron interactions withmatter transport process in the MCNP program. Finally, we used a largephoton-electron coupling transportation program MCNP to establish three-dimensionalparticle corresponds with the experimental conditions of the transport model. We canget the function relation of water content of crude oil and the total integral peaktransmission count and scattering counting by running the MCNP simulation program.Finally, comparing with theoretical data, we can conclude if it is feasible using thismethod.
