Coating with decorative, protective and functional characteristics, and is widelyused in buildings, vehicles, and other metal products industry. With the progress ofscience and technology and the improvement of living standards, people put forwardmore requirements on the function of coating. In order to achieve these functions, in themanufacture of paint, need to add various additives, solvents. In this process, extremelyharmful to human body material is introduced, these harmful substances releasedgradually in the use process, resulting in even life threatening the health of users.Aiming at the problem of bottleneck coating of harmful composition, detection andcontrol of material, the harmful substances in different, proposes the use of gaschromatography mass spectrometry in aqueous and solvent based paint in the volatileorganic compounds (VOC) content were detected, using wavelength dispersive X rayfluorescence spectrometry for comparison of effects of setting parameters of sampleswith different pretreatment conditions and instruments of measurement results,At present, in the practice of detection methods on the content of VOC in needgrouping determination, detection process is too cumbersome, defect detection resultsof large deviation results, lead to low reliability, low detection efficiency. Aiming at thisproblem, this paper proposes using a combination of gas chromatography and massspectrometry, to detect volatile organic compounds in aqueous and solvent basedcoatings, overcomes the defects of the existing detection methods, to improve thedetection method of VOC content in the coatings provide theoretical support andpractical accumulation.Formaldehyde is a carcinogen, a threat to human health is very large.Determination of the formaldehyde content standard reference water paint, using acetylacetone as spectrophotometric reagent for quantitative detection of formaldehyde content of the fire retardant coatings, to study the effects of temperature on the results ofthis test method, analyzes the universality, formaldehyde content and application of themethod of coating samples were determined, compared the test results with the commontesting method results. The results show that, the method is reliable, easy to operate.。Energy dispersive X ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDXRF) is a non-destructiveanalysis techniques, relative to the (ICP-AES) detection technology, has a simplesample preparation, fast analysis speed, simultaneous measurement of multiple elementsand wide measurement range and was rapidly and widely application. The coatingsamples of their preparation contains lead, chromium, selenium and cadmium on heavymetal content determined by powder-EDX ray fluorescence spectrometry. Analysis ofthe method, the test method of recovery rate, detection limit, precision for the analysisof strict evaluation. The results indicated that EDXRF analysis method is fast, accurateand good reproducibility, lower cost and more environmentally friendly, batch productsmore suitable for the detection of coating.
