During the spinning course, one key factor to determine the quality of the cotton product is the quality of cotton sliver. In order to get more productive and better quality sliver, the role of the Auto-leveling Carding machine should be taken seriously. For spinning industry, one of the most important problems is to research higher-performance Auto-leveler.Based on the Auto-control modes which include open-loop control, closed-loop control and hybrid ring control, the simulation is made for the Auto-leveling system by Simulink. The result shows that:the open-loop system,which first to detect then to auto-level, has a good effect on short-wave cotton layer with good real-time character; the closed system has a good impact on the long-wave cotton layer, because the even point is far from the monitoring point, this structure character is so-called auto-leveling dead zone; the hybrid system made by the combination of the open-loop and closed-loop, plays a great part on different wave cotton layer, because the system covers the advantages:respond quickly by open-loop, has a correction on the system offset by closed-loop.For this control system, the even point lies on the feeding roll, different control mode has different auto-leveling algorithm by mathematical derivation. In open-loop control system,the output has a double the rate of change relationship with the input; In closed-loop, the output increment has a linear relation with the input increment; In hybrid ring control system, the control variation is determined by both the cotton layer variation and sliver variation. The hybrid ring system can be regarded as different association modes of the open-loop and the closed-loop. In practical application, such as for FT025carding machine, one mode to assemble the both systems together by Weighted sum, change the proportion ratio to adjust the function, but the ratio has no rule to make, the system may be messed up; In this control system, take the detection of the thickness of layer and the weight of the sliver both as the factors to get the control variation at the same time, the nonlinear error between the depth of layer and the given weight is avoided.The hardware control system is based on STM32processor, with high speed, low-power consumption, more complex and intelligent algorithm can be implemented in this system; with high integration, the design of circuit board is simple, the cost is cut.
