Strategies For Regeneration Of Historic Buildings

Prison building is a special type of architecture, prison reform in late Qing Dynasty isan important part of series of political revolutions which had experienced several stages inthe history of development.Author did a deep and global research on the subject “WuHu prisonmodal”which is playing extremly important role in the process of WuHu building development.Thepurpose of this essay is to extend and expand precious heritages from ancient,besides,savingthecost of building design and reducing the risk of polluting environment is supposed to be anothergoal fot the best.This paper is a monographic study referred to specific kinds of buildings in the area ofrefactoring old-fashioned buildings hoping to find the right path to reconstructing andupgrading old prisons.By combing the clues of prisons’ development from the ancient days onand analysing buildings’ style from the view of theory and practice,author completed wholeexploratioin on "WuHu modal prison" which is valuable in culture and art of buildings.Throughtaking other buildings’ recontruction for example,author concluded three directions to design"WuHu modal prison":keeping existed functionalities of it,creating new space for it andupdating it with mordern technique.Starting from the three directions,author demonstated howto refactor "WhHu modal prison" without huge damage.
