With the increasingly tight supply of fossil fuels and severe environmental pollution, biomass energy has been attached to great attention around the world. The co-pyrolysis behavior of biomass and lignite mixture was studied by thermogravimetric (TG).The lignite samples used in experiment are xiaolongtan lignite(XL)and pioneer lignite (PL),and the biomass experimental samples are bamboo powder(BP)and sawd-ust(SD). The pyrolysis performance of single lignite and biomass were examined, and the influence of heating rate and different blending ratio of biomass in mixture(BR) on pyrolysis process were analyzed. The co-pyrolysis characteristics of biomass and lignite was discussed,as well as the kinetic model of co-pyrolysis was erected and the kinetic parameters were obtained. And the synergetic effets during biomass and lignite co-pyrolysis were discussed. The experimental results showed that the DTG peaks of devolatilization becomes wider with the increase of the heating rate. The Tmax which DTG peak temperature of biomass and lignite co-pyrolysis was increased with the increase of the heating rate.It could be deduced that the main pyrolysis temperature range of biomass and lignite can be overlapped partly at high heating rate.In the overlapped temperature range, the free-radical generated from biomass pyrolysis might function as coal hydropyrolysis with the result that the synergetic effects might be existed during biomass and lignite co-pyrolysis.The DTGbmax was increased and the DTGcmax was decreased with the increase of BR at the heating rate of30℃/min. The main pyrolysis temperature range of biomass and lignite can be overlapped partly so that the Tbmax and Tcmax which DTG peak temperature of biomass and lignite co-pyrolysis was decreased with the increase of BR at certain heating rate, the pyrolysis characteristics of lignite with biomass blends are not similar to that of every single sample addition of single lignite with single biomass and the interaction effects in the co-pyrolysis of biomass and lignite are suggested. The pyrolysis performance of single lignite and biomass and the co-pyrolysis characteristics of biomass and lignite was I kinetics reaction.
