Cylinder sleeve of marine diesel engine is the core work part in the ship power system.Needing the high requirements for cylinder sleeve in using process so that we must makenumerical simulation analysis to the technological parameters on vertical centrifugal castingof cylinder sleeve. Through this way,workers can effectively predict defects, optimizing thecraft, improving the quality of the cast.The main content of the paper and work are as follows:(1)Stating the basic theory of numerical simulation,which contains casting fillingprocess、process of setting、stress filed and microstructure of casting.The basic theory andcharacteristics of vertical centrifugal casting,calculating casting process parameters anddetermining the original casting process parameters scheme depended on casting designtheory.(2)Through the analysis of the actual working condition of casting, we takeadvantages of Pro/E to build the3-d solid model and the finite element meshing surface ofthe cylinder sleeve. Through PROCAST to complete body grid partition and the relatedparameters setting of cylinder sleeve pouring system.(3)Based on the quality of the casting defects, determining the process parametersaffected the quality of cylinder sleeve and taking multigroup simulated datum. We shouldrespectively make the macroscopic organization and microstructure of numerical simulationof the casting process. Through the pouring temperature, casting temperature casting speedaffecting the casting process and the analysis existing defects, we can identify new processprogram.The research shows that taking the optimized process parameters: the pouring speed is200mm s-1, pouring temperature is1300℃, casting temperature is200℃, casting speed950rpm in the casting process. Through the comparative analysis, we find that this group ofparameters is smooth filling on casting macroscopic aspects. It can reduce the gas,slag,segregation, white defect and so on. On microscopic aspects, the grain size and mechanicalproperties are more ideal.
