With the development of world economy and human’s pursuit of high standard of living, theconsumption of the energy has reached to an unprecedented scale. The energy is no longer"inexhaustible ". Protecting the ecological environment, maintaining sustainable development hasbecome a theme confronting the whole of mankind in twenty-first Century. According to thestatistics, the consumption of China’ s building energy accounts for about40%of the total energyconsumption of the whole society in China, and70%of China’s building materials are wallmaterials. Therefore, the exploit and the development of the new wall materials are imminent.Home and abroad for the research of new wall materials evaluation has become increasinglymature, but most of these studies are just staying at the technical level, without consideringeconomic, environmental and social cost-benefit. Against the background of the pursuit ofprofit-maximizing market economy, economic factors are the key to promoting the developmentof new wall materials. This paper starts from the concept and characteristics of the new wall material, difference ofnew wall materials and traditional wall materials, a comprehensive analysis of the new wallmaterial properties, characteristics; secondly, analysis of the prospects of new wall materials fromtwo aspects of consumption and the trend of development, which shows that the new wallmaterials is the inevitable result of social development. Finally, from the angle of lifecycle, according to the characteristics of the new wall materials, this paper will establish a relativelycomplete cost-effective evaluation system, to make a certain degree of quantitative analysis ofthe costs and benefits, to build a cost-benefit analysis from the perspective of the entire lifecycleof model; Besides, the paper will use the theory of economic technology combine cases toanalysis perforated brick wall materials’ costs and benefits. By the quantitative analysis of thefull account of the costs and benefits of the porous brick wall inside and outside, considering theirimpact factors to verify the economic benefits. After the economic analysis of the porous brickwall materials, and finally at the end of the article will give a careful analysis of the problems inthe development of new wall materials and will put forward a resolve policy.
