Komarowii Landscape Visual Analysis

Along with the great development of our society in areas like economics, cultural and construction of urban infrastructure people show much more interest in researching and building gardens nowadays. Especially for the unique type with both strong local humanistic culture and beautiful nature scenes but different from spectacular imperial gardens in northern China or the cute ones in south of Yangtze River or even the Lingnan Gardens which is called West Sichuan Garden.West Sichuan Garden is a kind of typical regional garden which locates on Chengdu Plain also the center of Sichuan Basin and has been effected by natural, political, and religious and other factors of southwest of China. At this time Ⅰ decided to do a research of the structure and characters of West Sichuan Garden starting with visual analysis of a well-known Park in Xindu district Chengdu city which is the representative of West Sichuan Garden called Shengan-Guihu Park (also Guihu Park).For the strong function of Chinese traditional landscape buildings in leading and controlling lines of sight, the analysis began with considering the relationship of main buildings’ locations in horizontal level. And then measured the sizes and angles in vertical level as well as compared the vision effect of Guihu Park with its counterpart, the vision effect of Zhuozheng Garden so that the visual analysis of West Sichuan Garden could be much more enriched and deepened.By considering the results of visual analysis of Guihu Park and which in comparison with Zhuozheng Park I finally figured out some characteristics of it both in static vision and dynamic vision which in short were in three aspects:’Nature designed, wide and broad’,’Combining static and dynamic, wonderful visual rhythm’,’Elegant and sparse, freshness and minimalist-looked’. In addition, I discussed what the results meant for whole West Sichuan Garden and wished all I have done could inspire others to think much more about West Sichuan Garden and to explore deeper about it.
