Overhead traveling crane plays an extremely important role in productionand life. With the gradual improvement of infrastructure in China, the overheadcrane is the most important "link" between maintenance and reconstruction stage.It is very important to study its safety and reliability. Overhead crane metalstructures occupy about70%of the weight. Once serious damage occurs instructure, the entire crane will be scrapped. The bridge crane structure isparticularly important.Taken the girder bridge crane metal structure as the object, parametricmodeling method is used based on ANSYS finite element analysis software. Thebridge crane bridge parametric finite element model is built. Based on fracturemechanics, the sources of overhead cranes and major cracks form areinvestigated and the most common type of the main types is selected open crack.Combined with ANSYS software comes with "Life and Death unit " functionmodule, the girder bridge crane structure crack expansion path is found.Considering the time impact on resistance and load on the structure of thebridge crane, the bridge crane girder time varying models with structuralresistance and load are built. The feature function of the mathematical model ofthe structure of the bridge crane is derived. Based on the principles of timevarying reliability, the structural software in the basic parameters finite elementmodel in VC++6.0software platform with APDL command flow is developedto evaluate the bridge crane girder structure in variable reliability applications.Applications software is used to analyze project examples. Comparing thedifferent lifting loads of overload, full load,full load and less load, the rules ofthe failure probability and structural reliability indicators are got with time.Through the examples of verification by the project, the result is closer to theactual reliability by time varying method. This method provides a newtheoretical methods and techniques for the bridge crane structural reliabilityassessment.
