Non-Rotationally Symmetric surface has many advantages, such as it canreduce the number of optical elements in the optical system, reduce the systemweight, improve imaging quality,so it’s widely used in the national defense andmilitary、aerospace、electronics and other fields. Slow tool servo is one of thetechnology of the ultra-precision diamond turning,it has a shorter processingtime, the surface precision can reach the level of sub-micrometer ormicrometer,the surface roughness can reach the level of nanometer,therefore itbecome a research hotspot.This paper mainly studied the NRS surface machining process with slowtool servo method, the paper was completed in the following areas:Select the cutting tool materials and cutting tool point form on the basis ofthe specific processing conditions,and select the geometric parameters of thecutting tool to avoid interference. Oriented to NRS surface, the tool pathplanning based on slow tool servo is discussed in the paper. Cutter contactdiscrete algorithm is analyzed to improve the machining accuracy of the surface.In order to realize the optimization of processing parameters, the simulationalgorithm of optical surface is discussed,can realize the prediction of theprocessing quality of the surface.In order to achieve the surface machining,realize fast and convenientprogramming, based on the technology of slow tool servo,by used of themodule of MATLAB GUI, developed an optical surface processing andsimulation software, use the software to achieve the parameter choice of surface,NC code generation and the simulation of surface.In order to ensure the center height of the cutting tool,ensure the quality ofsurface, design and machining the Y direction adjustable tool carrier,and usingdigital display dial indicator and optical tool microscope adjust the tool’s height.In order to realize the validation and application of the described theory in thispaper, based on the analysis of the NRS surface machine ability,used the NCcode that generated by the software, several typical NRS surface weremachined.
