Objective:To discuss the clinical efficacy of muscle meridian Ashi point towards external humaeral epicondylitis.Material and methods60cases from the202Hospital of PLA since October,2010to October2011were selected and randomized into a treatment group (acupuncture on muscle meridian Ashi point) and a control group (acupuncture in traditional way). There is not significant statistics different between them in aspect of age, course and situation (P>0.5). In the treatment group, sub-Chize, outside humerus ankle, sub-elbow, sub-Shousanli and sub-Xiaohai were selected as muscle meridian Ashi point, while in the control group, common selected points as Quchi, Shousanli, Waiguan, Hegu and Sanjian were selected. The treatment was given once every day, and needles are retained for30minutes every time.7days made a season. A season is followed by a3-day rest. The efficacy is evaluated when3seasons are over.ResultsIn treatment group,17were cured, making the cure rate56.67%;12were effective, making the effective rate40.00%;1was ineffective, making up3.33%. The total effective rate is96.67%. in the control group,10were cured, making the cure rate33.33%;14were effective, making the effective rate46.67%;6was ineffective, making up20.00%. The total effective rate is80.00%. The statistic different is significant (P<0.05). Conclusion1. Muscle meridian Ashi point is effective and has an advantage over traditional acupuncture way in treating external humaeral epicondylitis.2. This treatment is of convenience and high efficacy in external humeral epicondylitis. It can provide new ideas of treating this disease. It is strongly suggested to popularize.
