Vanilla is belonged to Vanilla su of the orchidaceae and the fujimoto spice plants in tropical rainforest area. The pod is made to be end product by fermentation process. It native to Central America, mainly distributed within25degrees of latitude north and south,700meters below sea level. The pods of Vanilla has a strong heart, brain, stomach, carminative, and to get rid of the obstruction to reduce fluid viscous, diuretic, Tiaojing, role for the treatment of hysteria, depression, impotence and rheumatism and other diseases. The experiments detected the moisture, ash, heavy metals of Vanilla, and research the detection method of volatile compounds, fingerprint and the difference of vanilla in different product area. The achieved results are as follows:1. Routine testing of vanillaThe experimental detect the moisture, ash, heavy metals in Vanilla Products pod and study pre-treatment of vanilla. Tests show:Moisture, ash and heavy metal content is in the normal range. The processing method is that sonicated two times in40℃, each treated for30min.2. Determination of volatile components in vanilla product podHydroxy-benzoic acid, vanillin, methoxybenzene methanol and anisaldehyde is as the index components, set up HPLC determination method. RSD of precision, repeatability, stability and sample recovery of the method were less than5%, methodological study is good. By HPLC determination, compare two product area ingredient content of vanilla pod, the index components of pod in Hainan are larger than Papua-New Guinea production of Vanilla.3. Research of HPLC fingerprint of extracts of vanilla product pod of Hainan and Papua-New Guinea The experiment establish a extract of Hainan and Papua-New Guinea vanilla product pod fingerprint of HPLC, the use of similarity as a fingerprint evaluation parameters, and the HPLC fingerprint similarity software is to calculate the similarity of the different origin of Vanilla pod extract. Different origin of goods of Vanilla pods are classified by using cluster analysis. The results showed that:the vanilla pod extract of two product areas with the reference substance reached the similarity of more than0.90; through cluster analysis of standardized data can be the vanilla pod extract of two product areas clear distinct into two types.4. Research of volatile oil components from Hainan Vanilla pod By using traditional volatile oil extraction, we extracted the volatile components in the Hainan Vanilla pod, and analysis the volatile components by GC-MS. The results showed that:72compounds were detected and confirmed in Hainan Vanilla pod, in which content of aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids is relatively high.5. Research of difference of vanilla pod extract from two producing areaTo analyze the chemical components in ethanol extracts of Vanilla Bean from Hainan and Papua-New Guinea and to assay the content of vanillin. Comparing various pretreatment methods, GC-MS analysis method was adopted to compare the chemical difference from two producing area. The results showed that:Because of different producing area,33and31compounds were respectively identified from Vanilla Bean and18compounds are common components, and Vanillin content varied significantly.
