Coronary Heart Disease(CHD) is due to inadequate blood and oxygen supplyto myocardium. It is usually due to narrowing of the coronary arteries byatheroma, or(and) the functional changes of coronary artery(spasm). With thechange of lifestyle, CHD has become one of the common diseases to harm people’s health and cause people death. The incidence rate has been rising gradually, and perniciousness is getting more and more serious, So many countries have investa great amount of money to the study of it in the world.Chinese traditional methods for treatment of coronary heart diseases arequite abundant and the most important is promoting blood circulation to removeblood stasis. Combined with modern coronary heart diseases foundation andcharacteristics, Professor Yu Rui thinks that improper diet and overstrain, abnormal change of emotion, attacking pathogenic cold causing the dysfunctionof the spleen and stomach, deficiency of qi and blood, phlegm obstruction andblood-stagnation, through a series of pathological changes leads to“pain causedby stasis”,”pain caused by under nourishment”, which are the basicpathogenesis of coronary heart diseases based on the research from huangdiNeijing and many other medical classics of TCM. So she proposes that disorderof the spleen causes dysfunction of the five zang-organs and disorder of thestomach causes essence loss of viscera according to the theory of regulatingthe spleen and stomach to make the five zang-organs in a particular way createdby Professor Li Dexin. She sums up many different treatments of coronary heartdiseases by regulating the spleen and stomach such as promoting qi to enforcethe spleen, soothing qi of the liver and regulating the spleen, enforcing theheart and the spleen, warming the middle and dispersing cold, resolving dampness and normalizing the stomach, and accordingly she makes prescriptions by usingChinese medicinal herbs in clinic.
