In the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, coronary heart disease belongs to the category of chest bi-syndrome. According to the changes of life style and diet mode of modern people, Professor Yang Guanlin points out that the etiology, pathogenesis, therapy and medication of CHD in TCM change as well. Professor Yang Guanlin thinks that we should analyze the causes of chest bi-syndrome through the location of pathogen. Based on the relationship of heart and spleen in physiology as well as pathology, Prof. Yang brings forward his point of view that angina pectoris can be better controlled when treating both heart and spleen simultaneity. He thinks that heart is the location of chest bi-syndrome, which is root deficiency and branch excess, while spleen is the root of the disease. Prof. Yang divides the disease into four syndromes: deficiency of QI and blood, deficiency of middle-jiao's Yang, blockage of humidity phlegm and food, interlaced of turbid phlegm and blood stasis. It always appears curative effect when Prof. Yang treats the disease by regulating the function of spleen. |
