Objectives:observing the therapeutic effects of external using Wen yang tong bi fang on the treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, including the impact on the patient’s grade of the World Health Organization peripheral nerve toxicity criteria,the traditional chinese medicine syndrome scoring and the quality of life.Observing the safety of Wen yang tong bi fang,in order to provide relevant theoretical and practical reference in the Chinese medicine Standardized therapy of peripheral nerve toxicity caused by anti-tumor chemotherapy drugs.Methods:66cases of CIPN were divided into the treatment group and the control group,each group has33cases. Patients in therapy group were treated with Wen yang tong bi fang for external use,while the patients in control group were treated with intramuscular injection of Cobamamide and immersed limbs with warm water. Referring to the grade of peripheral nerve toxicity criteria of the World Health Organization.and the grading standards of the TCM syndrome and quality of life,the research was attempted to observed the changes of TCM symptoms,and make acomparison of its grade of peripheral nerve toxicity criteria and the scores of quality life before and after treatment. The result was analyzed by applying SPSS19.0software.Result Regarding the reduction of the grades,the total effectiverate of the treatment group is87.88%,and the control group is61.29%.There is a very significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Regarding TCM syndrome scoring,the total effectiverate of the treatment group is90.90%,and the control group is58.06%.There is a very significant difference between two groups(P<0.01).Regarding the quality of life scoring,there is a very significant difference after the treatment between two groups(P<0.05).Before and after the treatment, two groups of safety indexes were in the normal range.Conclusion:The therapeutic effect of Wen yang tong bi fang on the treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy are significant, which is better than the control group.The therapeutic effect of Yang xue tong bi tang on TCM syndrome scoring is significant. Wen yang tong bi fang is much better at improving patients’quality of life. Yang xue tong bi tang is safe in its usage.
