The emergence of early newspapers and magazines founded by the ChineseCommunist Party in Shanghai is not a historical coincidence. Modern Shanghai, has aunique condition, urban industrial and commercial development is not only topromote the comprehensive improvement of the urban economy, but moreimportantly, to give birth to the Chinese working class. The outbreak of New CultureMovement, May Fourth Movement make the advanced intellectuals of Shanghaihave the chance to contact and spread the advanced Western ideology and culture,in which the Western cultural Marxism is the main content to be spread intoShanghai.A number of intellectuals who own the preliminary communist ideologytook the lead in organizing the establishment of the CPC Shanghai sponsor group andstarted the task of spreading Marxism.The developed media network of ModernShanghai provided convenient conditions for the CPC Shanghai sponsor group topropagate Marxism.For a time, as the representative of early newspapers andmagazines founded by CPC,The New Youth,The Communist,Labor Sector andWomans Voice assumed the important task of propagating Marxism and preparedthe ideology for the establishment of the CPC. Labor Sector, for example, thispublication is not only to spread the theory of Marxism publicity to the working classwith simple language, but it also revealed the phenomenon of capitalists’exploitation on labor value and pointed out the direction and means for theliberation of the working class, meanwhile it also promoted the popularity ofMarxism in a very large extent. The propaganda of the CPC early newspapers onMarxism, to a great extent, promoted the upgrading of the Chinese working class onconsciousness, and also to promote awareness of Chinese advanced intellectuals,which prepared a class basis and organizational strength for the founding of the CPC.
