The interrogative adverbs with the morpheme “He” are widely used in bothancient Chinese and modern Chinese. Based on the previous research and a largeamount of corpus, in order to deepen the research and offer reference to teachingChinese as a second language, this paper describes the similarities and differences onsyntax, semanteme and pragmatic description among the interrogative adverbs withthe morpheme “He”. Except for the introduction and conclusion, this paper consistsof four chapters below:In chapter I, all interrogative adverbs with the morpheme “He” are described indetail concerning syntax, semantics and pragmatics. In syntax, position, function andexclusive phenomena are analyzed as well as limitation of selection of sentences inthe meanwhile. It also searches on their semantics, aspects and pragmaticpresupposition.In chapter II, we detailed described “he bi” and “he ku” on syntax, semanticsand pragmatics which comes to their similarities and differences. Then we studiedthe conditions when they can exchange each other. At last, we discussed theirpragmatic presupposition.In chapter III, we study “he chang” and “he ceng”. Under the view of syntax,semanteme and pragmatic description, we studied their syntactic distribution, theselection of predicate and respective solely using. Meanwhile, we studied thesemantic model, pragmatic presupposition and their evaluating function.In chapter IV, we discussed the features on syntax, semantic and pragmatic of“he bu” and “he fang”. We studied their syntactic distribution, the selection of predicate and respective solely using and using with other lexis. Meanwhile, westudied the semantic model, pragmatic presupposition. At last, we discussed theirsubjective evaluation and quantity respectively.
