On the cult of mountain of Tibetan areas, not only can trace back the ancient ancestors of the cognitive thoughts and their universe and to understand and grasp many kinds of things like social beliefs, way of people thinking, their criterion for virtues and also on the benefit of sensing their aesthetic tendency etc. Tibetan ancestors along with their time-honored history, with their diligence and wisdom created a splendid Tibetan civilization. Mountain worship also contains a set of regulating Tibetans behaviors. In nomadic society, grasslands, water, and mountains are not only parts of natural landscape, but also the resources for make living. Via this interaction, there formed the Tibetans’personification of the around nature segments likes mountains, grasslands and springs. Thus emerged as a common ethnical psychology, way of thinking and traditional customs.This paper mainly summarizes the Tibetan mountain worship and the characteristics holy land pilgrimage within a historical context, hence expand a case study of Gato Jowo in southeastern kham of Tibet. Through the case analysis and research of Mount Gato Jowo via the historical origin of long and sacred geography construction, as well as different period in the history of Tibetan religious celibacy, summed up the cultural roots of mountain cult and the patterns of vibrations in the mountain worship. This thesis is carried out with six chapters in its discussion. In the preface mainly on the purpose and significance of topic selection, research methods and academic frontier research current period.In the second chapter, I explicated the natural and material world of Gato Jowo, especially what is so known as the true owners of Mount Gato Jowo. In further on their tribe’s history and formation, and the natural situation described as the core of mountains’ecosystem. By doing so in order to avoid to cause the reader just to see surface structure of the mountain.The third chapter mainly around the mountains in different status of different periods hence to review the entire context of the Mount Gato Jowo aims to find out the different identity changes, thereafter to can spy on Tibetan cultural history of all sorts.The fourth chapter in accord with the four booklets of sacrificial prayers and guide book of Mount Gato Jowo.by analyzing these four text to carry a experiments of all the related rituals within the texts and its internal meaning and values statues of different period of Tibetan history experienced by Mount Gato jowo.In chapter5is only on the pilgrimage of the holy land and its significances.The analysis is basically carried with the study of on the basis of text interpretation and a detailed description of the phenomenon of the ceremony.all are related in a consecutive context. Chapter six is mainly according to the theory of religious anthropology and some other subjects, to realize the function and roles of Mount Gato Jowo, at the same time as a natural perception, its contribution to the cultural memory; it could be interpreted as a kind of "historical text" there to be read. And the practical significance and inspiration for us, for according to the social benign operation and coordinated development. Epilogue part, after summing up the viewpoint of the above chapters at the core of a return to my understanding and reflection on the Tibetan mountain cult, as well as the m enlightenments motivated by Tibetan culture of Sacred Mouantian cult..
