This thesis utilized typology,stratigraphy and cultural factor analysis to study the prehistory Stone-constructed tombs in the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain.By studing regionalization and periodization of tombs,this thesis discussed structure classification and evolution of the tombs,compared the culture nature of the tombs with each region and their adjacent regions,finally studied the nations,origins and evolutional direction of the tombs.1.Based on natural geographical characteristics of the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain and the distribution of tombs,considering the tomb types and buried accessories, the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain were divided into three regions:The Eastern Region of the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain,The Middle Region of the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain,The Western Region the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain.2.On the basis of regionalization,this thesis studied periodization of the Stone-constructed tombs for each region,and deduced the date of tombs. Based on the combination of buried accessories and relation between the hominid remains of partial tombs,the buried accessories were divided into several groups. The research of typical pottery demonstrated the evolution of buried accessories each group. This study further induced the characteristics of each group and summarized periodization of the Stone-constructed tombs in different regions.According to the objects’ characteristics and the carbon dating of partial tombs,this study deduced the date of each periods.The Stone-constructed tombs in The Eastern Region of the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain had appeared at least in the early Spring and Autumn Period,and existed to the early Han dynasty. Those tombs in The Middle Region of the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain had appeared between the late Shang and Warring States Period,While those tombs in The Western Region the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain had appeared at first in the Western Zhou dynasty,but they were unsustainable.The Stone-constructed tombs in The Eastern and Middle Region of the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain developed from the Bronze Age to the early Iron Age,while those tombs in The Western Region had appeared in the early Iron Age.But some tombs should be in the early Iron Age.3.This thesis classified the structure of the tombs and analysed their evolution. The Stone-constructed tombs were dividied into two parts--the surface indication and the underground coffin crypt.The tombs were classified into different types in accordance with the combination of structure,the shapes of surface indication and the structure of underground coffin crypt. On the basis of periodization of each region,the study discussed the tomb types and burial customs in the same region at different stages.The tomb types in different region evolved with their own tradition. The characteristics of tomb types were obvious in different region at the same stages.In the early satage,the differences of the Stone-constructed tombs were greater than the common between three regions. In the late satage, the differences of tomb shapes were narrowed.4.Using cultural factor analysis,this thesis compared the Stone-constructed tombs with other relevant remains of the same time and ones in adjacent region. Then it discussed the culture nature of the tombs,and briefly studied the nation,origins and evolutional direction of the tombs. The Stone-constructed and Non-stone-constructed tombs in The Eastern Region of the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain belonged to Subeixi culture. Those tombs in The Middle Region of the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain belonged to Chawuhu culture. Those tombs in The Western Region the Southern foot of Tianshan Mountain were as remains of representative,such as Kezier and Kulansarike.
