The First Movement Of Beethoven's Study "A Big Drop Piano Sonata" (Op.26)

Most of Beethoven creations are instrumental works in which32pieces of piano sonatas are called“The New Testament” in the western music history. Beethoven’s mature period of creation began in1803of which the publishing of Symphony No.3“Eroica” was the sign. During the year1800-1802, wasBeethoven’s period of transition of his style of creativity.Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in A flat major(Op.26) which is the very fist piece of Beethoven’s mid-term piano sonatas written during the year1800-1801,whose structure was different from ordinary piano sonata..Based on the works of variation form of the first movement as the object of study, the author ofthis Master’s thesis will conduct a detailed analysis from the following aspects: harmony constitution,melody features,rhythm, tonality; variation techniques; emotion of works etc. It will further summarizeideas and characteristics of creation of the composer embodied in this work, and analyze how thecomposer could maintain the classical style of creativity but meanwhile process it flexibly. It will try tofind out the profound influence of this work as Beethoven’s piano sonata upon the creation of middle lateworks longitudinally, and its great value as the opening work of Beethoven’s mid-term piano sonata.
