Picture books are welcomed by large numbers of children and adults since its variety methodsof picture expression and vivid ingenious story. Following the development of multimediatechnology, the conversion between paper media and digital media is becoming a trend.Furthermore, people found that picture books are suitable to be adapted into animations, nomatter from its artistic features or content. There are a lot of outstanding cases in the UnitedStates, Japan and some other countries, but in China, adapting picture books into animationsis still in its infancy. In such a crucial phase, it is necessary to research and analysis’Animated’ of picture books, it is the requirement in development of multimedia. The waywhich combines audio-visual language and flat-screen reading makes people loving bothanimation and reading, and promote the development of picture books as well as theanimation, furthermore, it provides a new route to develop Chinese animation.In this report, we will introduce the trend of ’animated’ of picture books, discuss and researchthe key elements to have creation. We focus on the creative elements and creative skills of’animated’ picture books, and achieve the results of ’theory with practice’.
