The Thirty Tibetan Grammar System(sum bcu ba, a name of Tibetan theoretic grammar books) is root of all Tibetan grammars. It said that during the seventh century, the Tibetan great king---Songtzan Gambo’s reign period,The venerable scholar Thomi Sambodha went to India and learned adept in Sanskrit language, then return back and created the Tibetan writing language. King srong btsan sgam po(the32sd of Tibetan king) led most of his prime ministers and populaces to learn the writing language from Thonmi Sambhota(the minister of King srong btsan sgam po, the inventor of Tibetan alphabet). The Master translated many Indian grammar works, and also saying that he wrote eight Tibetan grammar books. But because of religious vicissitude and social changes except The Thirty Tibetan Grammar and The Six of Tibetan Words (rtags ’jug, a name of Tibetan theoretic grammar books) the other six books were disappeared. The subsequent scholars could name some of the six books but they don’t know what they are about. The Thirty Tibetan Grammar is about Tibetan word formation, verbs, prepositions, conjunctions, articles and so on. And also tell us how to learn those. There are many annotations and re-exegesis of The Thirty Tibetan Grammar during the redevelopment of Tibetan Buddhism after the destroying in840s. Even there are many explanations; there are still many unclear parts. The different scholars have various opinions about it too. Therefore, I choose this topic to not explain it again, but to study its content and formation.
