| In recent years, the subject of computer-assisted human on scientific understanding and analysis for painting works of visual art have been got more and more attention of scholars in various fields, the resulting discipline known as computer aesthetics. The traditional understanding and analysis of painting visual arts onlyrely on the artists’judgments which based onpersonal knowledge and insights, and the emergent of computer aesthetics is just the complementperfectly for the Artistic aesthetic simplificationin the history of art. At the same time, the aesthetic treatment with the application of computer-aided humanis helpful to solve the problem that humans can not deal with the growing surge of calculated data. In addition, this study is not only a innovative forefront research projectsinvolved arts,aesthetics, and computer science etc, but also is playingaimportant guiding role in the study of data visualization, human-computer interaction and computer aesthetics, has a very important theoretical value and application prospects.In the background of theory of the basis of information theory,combined with the specific characteristics of the image, this paper proposed five different numerical characteristics which different art paintings’ feature can be characterized, and it analyze the relationship between the styles of the painting visual arts.We can find there are similarities and great differencesbetween the different artists painting style from the compared with the experimental results and the analysis of Artcritics.The maincontents include the following aspects.First of all, some introduction of basic theory of information theory, including the basic concepts of information measurefor its research. In addition, summarize the relationship between painting visual arts and information theory. There are a lot of similarities, so the application the information theory knowledge to the understanding and analysis of the painting visual art style is effective.Secondly, five different numerical characteristics are proposed based on Information-theory:the color redundancy, the digital-image-palette, the image’s degree of order, the image’s complexity and the image’s significance. Moreover,, verify them with the characteristics of the specific image,confirmed its effectiveness, and the real and intuitive showing its characterization of each image feature.At last, with the application of five digital feature to analyze the art styles of the works of Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Georges-Pierre Seurat, Henri Matisse, Ding Shaoguang, XuBeihong and Qi Baishi. We describe quantitatively their style features from some fields such as their color usage, painting techniques, choice of subject matter and so on respectively, analyzing the differences and similarities of styles in the same kind, according to these experimental results, and comparing with the analysis of the art critics.The experiments shown that these digital characteristics which proposed by this paper are effectively in the analysis of different art styles. The study not only provides more analytical tools for the analysis of painting visual arts style, but also larger development space for the computer aesthetics. |
