Tan Dun is a representative of Chinese excellent composers, he used the nationalmusic elements of the music, and with western techniques of composition clevercombination, formed the rich ethnic flavor and not lose the modern sense of the uniquestyle of music, his music has had a tremendous impact, in the domestic and world musicat the same time, have made an outstanding contribution to the development of Chinesemusic. His piano suite "eight watercolor memories" nuanced portray a beautifullandscape painting to express Tan Dun hometown deep thoughts of love, at the sametime also showed his hometown the hard feelings. The Piano Concerto "theatre" isdescribed in the countryside of Hunan, the bustling scene of people theatre. The verycharacteristics of Hunan flower-drum opera cleverly into the works, make it become avery traditional Hunan music taste of piano works. These two pieces are novel in design,easy to understand the content, exercise one’s inventive mind in music to join the Hunantraditional music elements at the same time, clever and western composition techniquescombined, sounds to make people feel warm and have the modern feeling, is reallybeyond the Chinese piano works in the works.
