The emperor of Southern Tang Li Yu and the Tibet sixth Dalai Lama Tsangyang Gyatso, although their age difference of more than700years, but they have some similar experiences and some similarities in literary creation.This thesis is divided into six chapters. The introduction introduce the life and works of Li Yu and Tsangyang Gyatso, introduce research status and view of contradiction, introduce the meaning and methods of this research. The first chapter research relationships between their experiences and literary creation, compare the confliction of the role of consciousness and self-experience, research their childhood experience, conversion experience, lonely experience and lack experience have what impacts on their mental and creative. The second chapter compares contents of the two works, discusses five aspects:whims and reveal the truth, the pursuit of love and beauty, Hometown Complex, the beauty of the weak and philosophical implication. The third chapter from the natural imagery, the Bixing imagery, the cultural and language code and female imagery compares imageries of two works. The fourth Chapter from aesthetic style, plain language, the vivid details and delicate psychological description compares two works. The fifth Chapter compares Buddhist Implication of the two works. The sixth Chapter is accepted history, Introduce their literary achievement and status, sense of life, truth, Moving power and the universality of emotions analyzes the reasons of far-reaching.They have some similarities and differences in their experiences, ideology and art of their works. This thesis compares their life and works to fill the gaps on the comparative study.
