Deepak Art Songs And Sound Technical Analysis

Referring to the French art song composers in the latter half of the19thcentury, Debussy and Faure are well known by the public, so is another talentedcomposer Henry Deepak. His art songs are characterized by loyalty to the artisticconception expressed by poems and variable musical styles. However, there arefew researches in China relating to the harmonic skills and techniques ofDeepak’s art songs. From the point of view of harmonic skills and techniques,this thesis will analyze Deepak’s extant art songs in terms of the way hebreaking free from the conventional harmony to the utmost extent when he is usingtraditional harmonic language, in order to better grasp the features of Frenchart songs in the latter of the19th century.
