Wang Zhongshan Koto Music Study New Techniques

Wang Zhongshan, an outstanding Zheng musician today, has greatlycontributed both to the Zheng’s composing and the Zheng’s performing. His fourprinciples of Zheng’s new playing skills include “quickness”,"intonation","style" and"beauty". The paper has preliminarily studied Wang Zhongshan’s new skills forplaying the instrument. Besides introduction and epilogue, the paper consists of threechapters of text. Chapter I analyses the origin of the new skills. Chapter II classifiesthese skills and gives out the training method of them. Chapter III tries to discussthem from the cultural angle: the relationship between the birth of Wang Zhongshan’snew skills and his outlook on music. The author believes that to play WangZhongshan’s creation or adaptation master the skills is necessary, otherwise, theexpression of feelings in music will be difficult.
