Zheng as a solo art form after nearly a century of development, has become one of the most representative and the most expressive Chinese ethnic instruments. For nearly a century, the zither music writing team gradually grows and enriches zither music themes; writing techniques and forms are increasingly diverse; and the emergence of modern koto music is bring new aesthetic enjoyment, and its unique novelty and aesthetic interpretation of real life reflect the formation of a new pattern of ethnic musicOver the years, Wang, Dean of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, professor, and member of Chinese Music Association National Music Committee, has written a lot of songs, dance music, television music, instrumental solos, duets, chamber music, symphonies, and other genres of music. Many works were honored with awards in various national ethnic instrumental work contests. Especially the works of the influential erhu song:"First, second, third Erhu Rhapsody","Tianshan style", the zither music "Fantasia","Western Capriccio "," Lotus rumors "," Midnight Bells", and other works, and has been designated works to be played at the national competitions. Work at home and abroad have repeatedly staged concerts and festivals. Several works were published in" music" and other publications, dozens of CD albums have been recorded and published; among them are:"Wang Zheng Music,""Wang erhu collection". In addition, he served as as judges of various ethnic music contest.Since1989, as one of the outstanding representative of modern koto music writing, Wang has written a dozen works of first zither, and caused great repercussions among guzheng circles and all ethnic music circles throughout the country. Playing Wang’s zither work has become a platform to embodies one’s technical level.We can see that from the1990s to date, both at home and abroad, zither performance competitions, examinations of all levels of musical institutions, grading testing of all locations, and concerts of various sizes on the program all have Wang’s works. Wang’s works have certain writing features and innovation, with unique ideas and creative thinking. His zither works has moving cantabile melody as well as space for performance skills, and each with a different style and characteristics. These new writing techniques enriched the zither playing techniques, created a new sound, and the rich color effects also become one of the characteristics of his works. In this paper, combined with the author’s own practical experience, is to conduct a detailed analysis of rich color effects in Wang’s zither musical works, from the angles of contrasts of various music forms that existing in his works.
